We offer one program:
- BA (Visual Arts & Photography)– 3 years
Students are not required to take any competitive exams. Instead, they must submit their original photography portfolio via the Google Drive link provided by us. After submission, they will undergo a virtual Personal Interaction session called CVPI (Creative Visualization & Personal Interaction) conducted at the institute level.

Your submission will be assessed based on its technical and creative aspects. It must be original and free from plagiarism.
During the session, we evaluate your passion for photography and visual media.
No, but we offer hostel accommodation within the campus.
Short-term certificate courses focus on specific photography genres. For example, a certificate in studio lighting will only teach studio techniques but may not cover concept development, practical application, advanced retouching, or marketing. The BA in Visual Arts & Photography at Symbiosis Photography Institute offers a comprehensive curriculum covering all photography genres, including fashion, wildlife, star trailing, and more. It equips students with industry-level skills in concept building, studio setups, fine retouching, and social media marketing.
The program is 100% practical, with theoretical concepts introduced as needed.
Yes, owning a personal camera is essential.
Just as a writer needs a pen and a painter needs a brush, a photographer needs a camera to create their work. While it's highly recommended that photographers invest in their own equipment, SSVAP provides access to the latest camera bodies and lenses for students to use as per established protocols. This support is available both while students are in the process of acquiring their own gear and even later, if they require an additional camera. Ultimately, owning your own equipment is ideal, but SSVAP ensures that lack of gear doesn't become a barrier to learning and creating.
AI cannot replace photography as many genres require on-field expertise. Photographers are essential for:
- Capturing real-life events (e.g., natural disasters, cultural festivals).
- Documenting authentic wildlife moments.
- Adding the human touch in studio shoots.
While AI may assist in post production, it cannot fully replicate a photographer's expertise, making photography a stable career choice.
Graduates can pursue careers in:
- Photojournalism & Sports – Newspapers, magazines, news agencies.
- Street & Documentary Photography – Independent exhibitions.
- Fashion, Product, Architectural, & Automobile Photography – Corporate clients or personal studio setups.
- Wildlife & Travel Photography – Collaborations with researchers, rescue centers, magazines, and agencies.
